Yes! Instinct’s Draft and Approval permissions are easy to set up and manage in the Staff Admin. These permissions allow specific users to place orders in draft status.
This applies to products in the following categories: medications, diagnostics, continuous infusions, and miscellaneous. Users can still edit or order monitoring and other vital signs without requiring approval.
Draft orders then need to be approved by another user with approval permissions before they can be completed.
How to turn on Draft Mode
First, you will want to create a user role in the staff admin and include the “Create Draft Orders” permission. This will be applied to all users who should order in draft mode. To review how to create and manage user roles, visit our Administrator Guide.
2. Next, you’ll want to set up approval permission roles for all users who should be able to approve draft orders. You have two options:
Create a separate role with the “Approve Draft Orders” permission and assign it to the specific users who should have approval rights (as shown in the image below).
Add the “Approve Draft Orders” permission to all Doctor roles if you want every doctor to have the ability to approve draft orders.
