Treatment orders, that are set-up as vital products, will automatically record results on the Vitals Board when marked complete. However, vitals can be recorded at any time – even if they are not due or ordered yet. In these cases, simply search for the vitals that you want to enter a result for and then type the result in the value field. Don’t forget to click on Record when done to submit the value!
When completing a treatment or recording a value on the vital board, if the drop down menu or numerical field are not applicable, don’t stress! The drop down and numerical value field is always optional. Instinct allows you to bypass it by typing directly in the “Notes” field. This is helpful if you do not want to select one of the drop down options or you don’t feel comfortable leaving ‘0’ as a value.
As long as something is entered in the “Notes” field, you will be able to complete your treatment without a drop down selected or a number in the value field. These notes will also trend on the “Vitals” screen graph and you may hover over the value to display the note.
