When a Heska point-of-care laboratory order is completed on the Treatment Sheet, the following will happen:
The completed order triggers a request to the laboratory machine.
A new Diagnostic Chart document is created automatically in the Charts section.
The Diagnostic Chart document is updated automatically once results are available.
You can access the Diagnostics Dashboard, where all of your pending and recently received Heska diagnostics are displayed for patients at your hospital at a glance.

Heska Integration Setup Requirements
To integrate Heska analyzers with Instinct, three components must be installed and running on the same Windows computer connected to the Heska analyzers:
Data Capture Utility (DCU): This software acts as a translator, writing files to the local machine or network.
Heska Gateway: A Windows service that monitors the local folder, sends results to the cloud, and writes out the worklist file for the DCU.
Analyzer Worklist: This is an optional feature on each analyzer but is required for Instinct integration. All three components must operate on the same computer that manages the Heska analyzers, typically accessible by local administrators.
Troubleshooting the Heska Worklist
If the worklist is not loading and the connection string is blank, Instinct cannot connect to the worklist to retrieve patient information. Without this connection, patient requisitions will not appear on the analyzer. Ensure the connection string is correctly configured to resolve this issue.
