Diagnostic Integration at a Glance
When a mapped MVL lab order is completed via the Treatment Sheet, Ax Mode, or One-Off, the following occurs:
A new Chart document is automatically created with a status of Pending.
Once results are available, the chart status updates to To Review.
Click View Results to access and review the lab results.
Note: Don’t forget you can access the Diagnostics Dashboard, where all of your pending and recently received MVL diagnostics are displayed for patients at your hospital at a glance.
What to Do If You’re Interested
If Instinct recognizes that you use this integration, the Admin > Integrations page is automatically enabled for your account.
If you use the integration but do not see the Integrations page, please contact our Support Team:

Getting Started
Setting up Credentials
Obtain MVL Credentials:
Contact Midwest Veterinary Laboratory Support to create a username, password, and clinic ID for your hospital.
For multi-location practices, each location will require a separate set of credentials.
Admin Permissions:
To set up the MVL Integration in Instinct, your role must include the admin_integrations permission.
This permission grants access to the Integrations section within Instinct Admin.
To enter your Midwest Veterinary Laboratory integration credentials, navigate to the Admin area of Instinct and under the Practice Section, select Integrations.
In the list of Integrations, find Midwest Veterinary Laboratory and click on the Add Credentials button.
In the modal that opens, add your credentials (username, password, clinic ID) and click on Save.
Mapping MVL Products
Mapping a product for the MVL integration ensures the correct generation of the requisition PDF and ensures results are returned to Instinct.
Please Note: Only products that have a Tx Sheet Category of Diagnostics can be mapped for the MVL Integration.
To start, navigate to Products within the Admin Section and search for the product you want to map for MVL labs.
Click on the product name to open the product module. Under Integrations, choose MVL from the Company drop-down menu.
Next, select the appropriate MVL product from the Integration Product drop-down menu.
This selection will map the chosen product to your corresponding Instinct product and will be visible whenever you view the product modal.
To unmap an integrated product:
Click the ❌ icon to the right of the product.
Click Save before exiting the product modal to apply your changes.
