Instinct Payments’ Stored Card feature allows your staff to safely store client credit card details with client approval.
This simplifies billing for future visits, recurring medications, or outstanding balances, and reduces manual processes that may pose security risks.
How to Store a Card:
When initiating a transaction, check the “Save Card” box before charging the client’s card.
The card will then be securely stored in Instinct for future use, with the client’s permission.
After a successful transaction, card details are tokenized and securely stored on the client’s Instinct account.
In multi-location hospitals, a stored card needs to be set up only once and can be used for transactions at any location.
If a payment fails, the CSR will be prompted to keep or remove the stored payment method.
Future Authorized Charges:
When a future payment is due, such as for lab results, recurring medications, or a follow-up visit, and with client authorization, staff can process the payment using a stored card by selecting it in the Payments panel.
Management:
Instinct users can view stored cards within the client’s account through the Business Office. The stored card will show the card type and last four digits.
If a client has multiple stored cards on file, you can mark one as preferred or remove a card using the 3-dot menu.
Note: Expired cards will automatically be removed from a client’s account after their expiration date.
FAQs
Where do you store my credit card? How do I know it is secure?
Credit card information, including the full card name, name on the card, expiration date, or CSV isn’t stored in Instinct, making it inaccessible to anyone at Instinct or your practice. Only the last 4 digits are visible to identify the card.
We use the same secure tokenization technology as companies such as Netflix and Amazon, which meets the highest security standards.
Is there any change in workflow for refunds and voids?
No, refunds and voids will work the same as with a regular credit or debit card transaction.
