Review your practice's default roles
Every practice has the following roles available in Instinct by default:
Admin: admin user role
Auditor: allows editing and voiding invoices
Cashier: allows managing payments
Doctor: doctor user role
Staff: staff user role. Every user must have this role to access Instinct.
If your practice has the Appointment Calendar feature enabled, you'll also have the Calendar Scheduler role, which allows users to create and manage appointments, events, and drop-offs.

Create a custom role
Anyone with admin access can create additional roles and assign permissions to them.
Go to Admin → Practice → Staff and click Manage at the top of the page.
Select New at the bottom of the Roles list.
Enter a label and description for the new role.
Select the permissions you want the role to have. A blue check mark indicates which permissions are enabled.
Select Save.
For a full list of available permissions and what each one grants, see Available Permissions.
Tip: Some Instinct updates and releases come with additional permissions. Periodically review your roles to make sure their permissions are up to date.
Assign a role to a user
Once you've created a role, assign it to a staff member from their user profile in Admin → Practice → Staff. Select the user, add the new role under Roles, and select Save.
