In any text box in Instinct, emojis can be used by simply using the following shortcuts:
PC with Windows 10 or later
Windows key + semicolon or Windows key + period, depending on your device.
Mac
Control + Command + spacebar.
Emoji Doctor
Easily identify patients not yet assigned to a doctor.
Example: Create a "doctor" placeholder User profile in Admin so it can be selected in the provider drop-down. This lets staff assign a watch or clock emoji (⌚️🕰️⏱️) to flag patients still waiting to be seen—e.g., "ER Waiting."
Emoji Wards
Get creative with patient locations that aren’t a typical ward, for example, getting a bath (🛁🫧🧼).
Belongings or Notes
Since the Belongings or Notes section is not a part of the medical record, emojis can be used here too. A money-related emoji (🤑💵💰) could help communicate that a new deposit needs to be collected.
Code Status
You can also add emojis into the Code Status (🔴🟠🟢) abbreviation so that it shows up when the TX View is toggled on.
