You can schedule and complete laboratory treatments like any other treatment in Instinct. IDEXX specific treatments display a diagnostics icon on both the Order tab and line item on the TX screen as shown below. While the diagnostics icon will not display if ordered as a One-Off, you can still complete One-Offs for IDEXX treatments.
Once the treatment is completed, the Order History screen will display a Review Lab Form button. Selecting this button opens the order form within the chart document panel to the right.
Or, you can navigate to the order form from the Chart screen.
Clicking on Notes opens a popup to edit the technician name, collection date, previous reference number, and any order notes order notes are only available for Reference Labs.
If this is an In-House request, clicking Order triggers a request to your In-House IDEXX machine(s). If this is a Reference Lab request, clicking Order initiates the IDEXX requisition form within the Chart document to easily print and send out with your samples. The Order button must be clicked to send the order to IDEXX.
Take Note: Sometimes the Chart will be generated with a Created status first, however it will automatically update to To Submit once the IDEXX API receives it.
Once the Lab Form is ordered, View Results will display in the Order History screen if the IDEXX report document is in a Pending status.
From the Chart screen, you’ll see the Chart document as a Pending status.
If the lab document is a Reference Lab, a requisition View Form button will display this button does not display for In-House tests. Selecting the View Form button automatically downloads and opens the requisition form for printing to include with the blood sample going out to IDEXX.
Pro Tip: Employee accounts that have the Account Types of either Staff or Doctor, will automatically be marked as such on the requisition form.
