MVL treatments are scheduled and completed just like any other treatment in Instinct.
Mapped MVL treatments display a 🧪 icon on both the Order tab and the line item on the TX screen.
If an MVL treatment is ordered as a One-Off, the diagnostic icon will not appear, but you can still use One-Off to initiate MVL requests.
Once the MVL treatment is marked as complete, the Complete button will change to View Results.
Clicking View Results will open the chart document. Click on View Form to view, download, or print the requisition PDF.
Note: Note: While Midwest Veterinary Laboratory (MVL) products can be added directly to an Estimate or Invoice, this does not create or complete a treatment and therefore does not initiate a lab request.
Chart Status Progression
Status Flow:
Pending ➡️ To Review ➡️ To Share ➡️ Complete
When Midwest Veterinary Laboratory (MVL) treatments are completed, a Chart document is automatically created with a Pending status.
Once results are available, the status updates to To Review.
After reviewing the results, the status can be manually changed to To Share to indicate the results have been shared with the client or referring veterinarian (rDVM).
Once the results have been reviewed and shared, the chart status can be manually updated to Complete.
