How to access Instinct from a web browser on a tablet

Updated over a month ago

Instinct is optimized for laptops and desktop computers, but it can also be used on tablets with the right setup.

This article explains device requirements and how to log in to Instinct from a tablet using a web browser.

Supported Tablet Setup

Instinct works best on tablets that meet the following requirements:

  • Browser: Google Chrome (required)

  • Screen size: At least 12 inches (recommended to reduce eye strain)

  • Keyboard: External keyboard recommended to reduce typing and input errors

Note: Other browsers are not supported at this time.

To use Instinct on a tablet via web browser, visit: https://app.instinctvet.cloud on a Google Chrome browser.

Logging In With a Security Token

Next, you’ll need your security token file. Only your hospital administrators or IT Team can provide this to you.

To get the Practice ID and Password from the token file:

  1. Open up the document with Notepad/Wordpad.

  2. The file contains three alphanumeric strings, each separated by double vertical bars (||). (123-abc || 456-def || 789-ghi)

    • The Practice ID consists of the first string. (123-abc)

    • The Password consists of the 2nd and 3rd strings including the || between them. (456-def || 789-ghi)

  3. Copy and paste values into the login screen (Copy/paste is strongly recommended to avoid errors.)

Depending on your tablet functions, you may be able to drag + drop the instinct_token file directly into the browser window to automatically capture the token credentials:

We also recommend saving the Instinct URL (https://app.instinctvet.cloud/) to your favorites/bookmarks on the Chrome browser for fast access. If your administrator team or IT Team have any questions please have them contact us at [email protected].

Tip: Google Chrome is the only browser we recommend using at this time. If you clear your cache/cookies, you will need to drag the token file onto the webpage again.
