Detailed Inventory Workflow (Itemized Depletions)

Discover how your hospital can track itemized depletions directly in EMR!

Updated over 3 months ago

This method allows hospitals to bundle non-billable items, such as sponges, tongue depressors, cotton swabs, cast padding, etc., with billable items. By creating product bundles, hospitals can ensure that all consumables are accounted for whenever a billable service or treatment is performed. This helps maintain accurate inventory levels without impacting the client’s invoice.

This workflow heavily utilizes Product Bundles.

  1. A product for all inventory items that are typically not ordered on the treatment sheet or invoice must be created as a non-billable product within Instinct.

  2. It’s recommended that you put a 📦 in front of the product name to differentiate inventory items from regular treatment items.

  3. Within the Admin section, navigate to the Create Bundle button. This screen will allow you to add up to 30 non-billable items to associate with the parent product.

  4. From this screen, you can choose whether the default quantity will automatically deplete or if your staff will confirm the quantity when the treatment is completed.
