The Snapshot tab in Instinct EMR lets you quickly orient yourself on a patient before any interaction—appointment, callback, or emergency visit. Presets are predefined widget arrangements that reorder the Snapshot tab to surface the information most relevant to your workflow.
Understanding the Snapshot tab
The tab previously labeled Profile in a patient’s Chart section has been renamed to Snapshot. The content and functionality are the same—the new name better reflects its purpose as a quick, comprehensive view of a patient.
Note: If you previously used the Profile tab, its content has not changed. The Snapshot tab is the same tab in the same location. |
How to select a preset
Open a patient's chart and click the Snapshot tab.
Click the preset drop-down in the top-left area of the tab. The available options are Wellness, Clinical, and Follow-Up.
Select the preset that best matches your workflow.
The tab immediately rearranges to display widgets in the selected preset's order.
Your selection is automatically saved and will apply to every patient's Snapshot tab—not just the one you're currently viewing. You can change it at any time by returning to the View drop-down.
What each preset shows
Each preset displays the same widgets in a different order. No information is removed—only the priority changes.
Wellness (default until a preset is selected)
This is the default preset and matches the current layout in Instinct EMR today. It prioritizes preventive care and wellness monitoring — ideal for general practice visits.
Widget order: Medications → Reminders → Weight History → Vaccinations → Health Services → Main Problem/Dx → Recent Certificates → Account Patients → Account
Clinical
Leads with clinical and diagnostic information. Best suited for specialists and some emergency cases.
Widget order: Main Problem/Dx → Medications → Weight History → Health Services → Vaccinations → Account → Account Patients → Recent Certificates → Reminders
Follow-Up
Prioritizes account and client contact details. Most useful when calling clients about hospitalized patients or communicating test results.

Frequently asked questions
Will my preset choice affect what my colleagues see?
No. Your preset is personal to your account. Each team member can select whichever preset works best for them—your selection has no impact on other users.
Does selecting a preset apply to all patients or just one?
All patients. Your preset applies globally across every patient's Snapshot tab.
Will there be more presets in the future?
Yes. The Snapshot tab will continue to expand with additional widgets and preset options.
