Status icons and what they mean
Icon | Status | When it appears |
House with a heart | Checked In | The patient is checked in to their most recent active visit |
Ambulance | On the Way (OTW) | The patient is checked in to the OTW board for their most recent visit |
X | Canceled | The appointment is marked as canceled |
(empty) | Checked Out | The patient is checked out of their most recent visit and the appointment is active |
House with an X | No Show | The patient is checked out and the appointment is marked as a no-show |
Checkmark (✓) | Confirmed | The appointment is confirmed and the patient has not yet been checked in, canceled, or marked as a no-show |

Frequently asked questions
When does the Confirmed checkmark disappear?
The checkmark remains visible until the patient is checked in or the appointment is marked as canceled or a no-show. Once either of those actions occurs, the checkmark is replaced by the corresponding status icon.
Why is the Status column empty for some appointments?
An empty Status column means the patient has been checked out of their most recent visit and the appointment is active—no additional action has been taken.
