Sort, Edit, and Print Appointments in List View

In Instinct EMR, List View lets you sort appointments by column, edit appointment details directly from the list, and download a printable version of the day's schedule.

Sort appointments by column

List View defaults to sorting appointments chronologically by Time. You can add a secondary sort by selecting a column header—the Time column will always serve as the secondary sort.

Select a column header to sort by that column. Select the header again to toggle between ascending and descending order. To remove a sort, select the up/down arrows on that column header.

Note: Sorting resets to the default Time sort each time you navigate back to Schedule View. Sorting can be removed from all columns except Time. Drop-off appointments are treated as 7:00 AM and sorted accordingly.

Columns available to sort:

  • Time: default; sorts chronologically by appointment time

  • Provider: sorts alphabetically by provider, then by time

  • Patient: sorts alphabetically by patient name, then by time

  • Status: sorts by status, then by time

  • Service: sorts by service, then by time

  • Type: sorts by appointment type, then by time

  • Client: sorts alphabetically by client last name, then by time

Edit an appointment from List View

You can edit appointments directly from List View without opening the full calendar block.

  1. Select the three-dot menu (⋮) to the left of the patient's name.

  2. Select the action you want to take from the menu.

Note: Users without the calendar_manage_appointments permission will only have the option to check in or check out from this menu.

Print or download the appointment list

Select the printer icon at the top of the calendar to download the current list view as a printable PDF.

The PDF will include all appointments currently displayed in the list for the selected date.
