Why am I being asked for sensitive information in my KYC Application?

Collecting certain sensitive details is a required part of setting up your merchant account, and it is standard practice across the payments industry. Payment processors and card networks are required by federal law to verify the identity of every business they work with before processing can begin.

KYC requirements exist to prevent financial fraud, money laundering, and other illegal activity. They are not specific to Instinct Payments. Every business that accepts card payments goes through this process, regardless of the payment platform they use.

This information is used solely for identity verification and is handled in accordance with strict data security standards. It is not shared or used for any other purpose. If you have questions about a specific field in your application or are unsure what to submit, reach out to Instinct Payments and we can walk you through it.

How long does it take for my Application to process?

You will receive approval or rejection within 24 hours of submission.

Why would my Application be rejected?

In addition to genuine fraud or risk concerns, applications may be rejected due to errors in the information provided. For example, using placeholder data (e.g., 123-45-6789) will result in rejection. Ensure all information entered is complete and accurate.
