Print and save drug handouts

Plumb's Drug Handouts are client-facing documents you can print or save as PDFs directly from Instinct.

  1. Search for the medication in the Plumb's side pane.

  2. Select View Drug Handout.

  3. Save or print the PDF document.

Note: Drug Handouts can only be saved and printed through a Chrome browser via the Instinct web app. The Drug Handout button does not appear if no handout is available for that product.

Attach drug handouts to charts (Instinct EMR only)

In Instinct EMR, chart File Blocks allow you to upload documents and attach Plumb's Drug Handouts directly into a chart.

To attach a handout to an existing File Block:

  1. Locate the File Block in the chart.

  2. Select Upload to upload a supported file from your workstation, or Handout to search for and insert a Plumb's Drug Handout.

To add a File Block to a chart that does not have one:

  1. Select + Add at the bottom of the chart.

  2. Select one of the following:

  • Upload file(s): opens a window to select a saved file from your workstation.

  • File Block: adds a block for attaching a Plumb's Drug Handout, with the option to attach a saved file from your workstation. Add one File Block per handout needed.

Once added, you can drag and drop File Blocks to rearrange their position in the chart. Select the three-dot menu on a File Block to access the following options:

  • Preview File: view the drug handout as a PDF within Instinct EMR.

  • Download File: download the handout via a PDF viewer to print or save.

  • Remove File: remove the uploaded file and return the block to its empty state.

  • Delete Block: remove the File Block from the chart entirely.

Note: If a File Block is marked as Required in Chart Admin (indicated by an asterisk *), the Delete Block option is not available. Plumb's Handout PDFs and other uploaded PDFs are attached as separate pages at the end of the chart.
