Void an Ellie Diagnostics Request

In Instinct EMR, you can void an Ellie Diagnostics lab request after it has been submitted. This article explains how to void the request in Instinct and what steps to take with Ellie Diagnostics directly.

Void a lab request

Once a lab request has been submitted, you can void it from either the 3-dot menu on the treatment or from within the Chart document side panel.

  1. Locate the Ellie Diagnostics treatment on the Treatment Sheet or in the Chart document side panel.

  2. Open the 3-dot menu on the treatment or click into the Chart document.

  3. Select Void.

  4. Contact Ellie Diagnostics directly to cancel the requisition on their end.

  5. Update the patient's Treatment Sheet and Invoice to reflect the canceled order.

Warning: Voiding in Instinct does not automatically cancel the requisition with Ellie Diagnostics. You must contact Ellie Diagnostics directly to cancel the order.

Frequently asked questions

Can I undo a void?

Yes. If you need to reverse a void, use the Undo Void option available in the same menu where you voided the request.
